Howdy! Welcome to my little corner of t’interwebs!
I am a forty something year old woman living in Buckinghamshire, UK. I have always had a passion for gadgets and technology and have been working on creating my smart home since starting to live alone in 2021, following my divorce.
Over the years, I have collected a number of disabilities, which makes having a smart home even more useful. At present, I have diagnoses of AuDHD, Arthritis, and Fibromyalgia. Technology and medicine are my autistic special interests/ADHD hyperfixations.
I started Lady of the Smart Home in 2023, to discuss all aspects of home automation, being an AFAB who has a keen interest in all things techy, and of course, the intersection of these with my disabilities.
In January 2024 I suffered an spontaneous intra-cerebral haemorrhage, also known as a haemorragic stroke. This has come with a whole new range of difficulties and this blog will also talk about these, as a place where I am free to communicate.
